Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of student learning achievement through the application of the Think-Pair Share (TPS) method in Civics learning in class VIII C students of SMP Negeri 2 Poso Pesisir Utara. The research subject is Santri. Informants in this study were teachers of Civics in class VIII and 22 students of class VIIIC at SMP Negeri 2 Poso Pesisir Utara. Data collection techniques using tests, observations and documentation. The data analysis technique used qualitative data analysis with stages, data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and analyzing qualitative data through individual absorption, classical learning mastery, and classical absorption. The results showed that the use of the Think-Pair-Share model increased the percentage of classical mastery by 63.38% with classical absorption of 75.54% in Cycle I. Then it increased in cycle II by achieving the percentage of classical mastery of 86.36% with power classical absorption of 79.45%.
