Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the role of Rambu Solo' culture in uniting the community in Tondon Siba'ta Village, Tondon District, to describe the inhibiting factors and supporting factors in uniting the community in Tondon Siba'ta Village. The subjects of this study amounted to 5 people, namely the Head of Lembang/Village, Traditional Leaders (Traditional Stakeholders), and the Community. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews, documentation. The results of this study show 1) Rambu Solo' culture has a role in uniting the community where in carrying out the Rambu Solo' ceremony the family invites neighbors and relatives to carry out the ceremony together. The community works hand in hand to help families who hold the Rambu Solo ceremony so that the ceremony can run well. 2) Factors that hinder the creation of unity in society, namely personal or group selfishness, unequal distribution of sacrificial animal meat at the Rambu Solo' ceremony, social jealousy, and also social status. While the factors that support in creating unity in the community are mutual cooperation, the provision of assistance in the form of sacrificial animals and money.
