Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan SAVI berbantuan alat peraga yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII A1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu pada materi luas permukaan dan volume limas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengacu pada desain Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A1  SMP Negeri 14 Palu sebanyak 24 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan SAVI berbantuan alat peraga yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII A1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu pada materi luas permukaan dan volume limas menggunakan aspek-aspek sebagai berikut: 1) somatis yaitu siswa dibentuk ke dalam empat kelompok belajar yang heterogen, siswa mengamati  alat peraga untuk menemukan rumus luas permukaan dan volume limas; 2) auditori yaitu siswa mendiskusikan bersama teman kelompoknya soal yang terdapat pada LKS, siswa bertanya kepada guru dan menyimak penjelasan guru mengenai hal-hal yang kurang dipahami pada LKS, siswa mempresentasikan hasil diskusi kelompoknya di depan kelas; 3) visual yaitu pada siklus I siswa menggunakan alat peraga kerangka limas dan model bangun ruang limas yang terbuat dari karton untuk mempermudah siswa menentukan unsur-unsur limas dan menemukan rumus luas permukaan limas, sedangkan pada siklus II siswa menggunakan alat peraga model bangun ruang limas, bangun ruang kubus dan kacang hijau untuk mempermudah menemukan rumus volume limas; 4) intelektual yaitu  siswa dapat menemukan rumus luas permukaan dan volume limas.

Abstract: The objective of this research was in order to describe the application of SAVI approach assisted props which could improve the students' learning outcomes at class VIII A1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu on the surface area and pyramid volume. The type of this research was a classroom action research that referred to the Kemmis and Mc research design. Taggart, i.e. planning, action execution, observation, and reflection. The samples of this research were the students of class VIII A1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu, consisting of 24 students. The result of this research shows that the application of SAVI approach assisted props that could improve the students’ learning outcomes of class VIII A1 SMP Negeri 14 Palu on the surface area and volume of a pyramid using the following aspects: 1) somatic i.e. students were formed into four heterogeneous learning groups, students observing props in order to find the surface area and pyramid volume formula; 2) auditory i.e. students discussed with their group friends about the problems contained in the LKS, students asked the teacher and listened to the teacher's explanation about the things that they do not understood yet in the LKS, students presented the results of group discussion in front of the classroom; 3) visual i.e. in cycle I students used props pyramid framework and model of pyramid space build that was made by cardboard in order to facilitate the students in determining the elements of pyramid and finding the formula of pyramid surface area, while on the cycle II the students used props model of the pyramid, cubes and green beans for beginners to discover the formula of pyramid volume: 4) Intellectual i.e. students could find the surface area formula and pyramid volume.
