Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang penerapan model pembelajaran penemuan (discovery learning) yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi fungsi invers di kelas X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 9 Palu. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yakni perencanaan, tindakan dan observasi serta refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 9 Palu yang terdaftar pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Subjek penelitian ini sebanyak 22 siswa dan dipilih tiga siswa sebagai informan. Pada penelitian ini diterapkan model pembelajaran penemuan (discovery learning) dengan mengikuti fase-fase pembelajaran, meliputi: (1) menstimulasi/pemberian rangsangan, (2) pernyataan/mengidentifikasi masalah, (3) pengumpulan data, (4) pengolahan data, (5) verifikasi/pembuktian, dan (6) menarik kesimpulan/generalisasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) siswa dapat menemukan konsep fungsi invers dan mengingat definisi dari fungsi invers untuk siklus I; (2) siswa dapat menemukan sifat/aturan pada fungsi invers dan menentukan rumus fungsi invers untuk siklus II; (3) melalui penerapan model pembelajaran penemuan (discovery learning), hasil belajar siswa meningkat dari siklus I sebesar 57,14% ke siklus II sebesar 85%; (4) setiap aspek aktivitas guru dan siswa dalam pelaksanaan fase-fase model pembelajaran penemuan (discovery learning) pada lembar obsevasi berada pada minimal kategori baik; (5) lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa berada pada kategori baik pada siklus I dan berada pada kategori sangat baik pada siklus II dengan mengikuti fase-fase model pembelajaran penemuan (discovery learning).

Abstract: This research aimed to describe about the application of discovery learning model that can increase scholastic achievement of students on the topic of inverse functions at grade X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 9 Palu. This research was a classroom action research which referred to Kemmis and Mc. Taggart research design that were planning, acting and observing as well as reflecting. This research was conducted in two cycles. Subject of research was grade X MIA 1 student of SMA Negeri 9 Palu in the academic year 2017/2018. The number of research subject were 22 students and three students were selected as informants. In this research was applied discovery learning model through the phases of learning, they were: (1) stimulation, (2) problem statement, (3) data collection, (4) data processing, (5) verification, and (6) generalization. The results of this research by applied discovery learning model such as: (1) students can find the concept of inverse function and remember the definition of the inverse function in the first cycle; (2) students can find the properties or rules that exist in the inverse function and determine the inverse function formula in the second cycle; (3) through the application of discovery learning model, the scholastic achievement of students increased by 57.14% of the first cycle to the second cycle amounted to 85%; (4) each aspect of the teacher’s and the student’s activities through the application of discovery learning model phases minimal were in good category at observation sheet; (5) the observation sheet activities of teachers and students are in the good category in cycle 1 and are in the category of very both in cycle 2 according to phase of Discovery Learning model.
