PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE THINK PAIR SHARE (TPS) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh deskripsi penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi volume kubus dan balok di kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 15 Palu. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII B yang berjumlah 24 siswa dan tiga diantaranya dipilih sebagai informan. Pendekatan penelitian ini merupakan gabungan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yakni (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS, yaitu (1) tahap kegiatan pendahuluan, pada tahap ini membuka pembelajaran dan menjelaskan alur pembelajaran; tahap kegiatan inti meliputi (2) tahap think (berpikir), pada tahap ini guru menyajikan materi, membagikan LKPD yang diselesaikan secara mandiri; (3) tahap pair (berpasangan), pada tahap ini menempatkan siswa ke dalam beberapa kelompok yang beranggotakan dua orang siswa, mempersilahkan siswa melakukan diskusi mengenai pembahasan pada tahap sebelumnya; dan (4) tahap share (berbagi), pada tahap ini siswa perwakilan masing-masing kelompol membagikan hasil pekerjaan di depan kelas untuk selanjutnya didiskusikan; (5) tahap kegiatan penutup, pada tahap ini siswa membuat kesimpulan.

Abstract: The objective of this research to get description of application cooperative learning model TPS type can improve students learning results on cube and block volume materials of the eight B grade at junior high school 15 Palu. Subject of this research is the eight B grade students amount 24 students and three of them chosen as informants. Approach of this research is combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches. This research is action learning class (PTK) refers to research design by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart namely (1) planning (2) execution (3) observation and (4) reflection. This research is carried out of two cycles. application cooperative learning model of TPS type can improve students learning results of the eight B grade at junior high school  15 Palu on cube and block volume materials to follow phases of cooperative learning model TPS type namely : (1) introduction activity phase, in this phase, opening and explain learning plot; main activity phase include (2) think phase, in this phase teacher present materials, distribute LKPD which done independently; (3) pair phase, in this phase put the students into some groups of two students, allow students to discuss about discussion in the previous phase; and (4) share phase, in this phase students representation of each group to share work in front of class for further discussion; (5) closing activity phase; in this phase students make conclusion.
