Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh deskripsi penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi keliling dan luas daerah segitiga di kelas VII SMPN 21 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan desain penelitian yang mengacu pada Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 21 Palu. Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara, tes, observasi dan catatan lapangan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II pada materi keliling dan luas daerah segitiga dengan menerapkan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: 1) pemanasan, 2) pengamatan, 3) interpretasi hasil pengamatan, 4) peramalan, 5) pengkajian, 6) generalisasi penemuan, 7) penerapan dan 8) komunikasi. Pada langkah 1 peneliti menyampaikan tujuan pembelajaran; pada langkah 2 siswa mengamati masalah yang ada di LKS; pada langkah 3 siswa menafsirkan informasi yang diperoleh melalui pengamatan; pada langkah 4 siswa diminta meramalkan kemungkinan yang akan terjadi berdasarkan informasi sebelumnya; pada langkah 5 siswa mengkaji hasil peramalan untuk memastikan kebenaran dari hasil ramalan; pada langkah 6 siswa mendiskusikan hasil kegiatan yang mereka lakukan dan menyimpulkan secara umum hasil temuannya; pada langkah 7 siswa mengerjakan soal latihan; pada langkah 8 guru membimbing siswa untuk menyimpulkan materi keliling dan luas daerah segitiga.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the applying of process skills approach that can improve student’s learning outcomes of main topic perimeter and the area of triangle at class VII SMP 21 Palu. The type of this research is a classroom action research refers to Kemmis and Mc. Taggart consist of four components, that are (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection . Subjects in this study were students of class VII SMP 21 Palu. Types of data used is qualitative data and quantitative data with data collection techniques are interviews, tests, observations and field notes. This studying was conducted in two cycles. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle in the material and the area around the triangle by applying the following steps: 1) heating, 2) observation, 3) interpretation of the results of observation, 4) forecasting, 5) assessment, 6) generalization discovery, 7) application and 8) communication. At the 1^th step researchers express purpose of learning; at the 2^nd step students observe the problems that exist in worksheet; at the 3^rd step students interpret information obtained through observation; at the 4^th step students were asked to predict what might happen based on previous information; at the 5^th step students examine the results of forecasting to ensure the correctness of the results forecast; at the 6^th step students to discuss the results of their activities and conclude the general findings; at the 7^th step students do exercises and at the 8^th step teachers guide students to conclude the matter circumference and area of a triangle.
